“Free”, “free of charge”, “saving”, “costs of transmittal”? How much money do I really have to pay when using the service of Zelfi free text-message?

Good question. There’s no general answer, caused by the diversity of rates and the different billing of network providers. Eventually, the costs vary due to the user’s individual frequency of writing text-messages. Depending on the current rates, you are able to save a few Eurocents.

Here is an example:
You pay approximately 19 Eurocents for sending one text-message. If you send 3 text-messages a day, you’ll have to pay 57 Eurocents. Monthly seen, that would be 17,10 Euros. By using the Zelfi free text-message program, your text-messages are sent via GPRS. Normally, the data will be charged by your network provider in data packets of 10kB. We pack your text-message with up to 160 characters as well as 2 sales messages of Zelfi advertisers in such a data packet. Thus, by a daily transmission of 3 Zelfi free text-messages, you’ll pay 9 Eurocents per data packet of 10kB (in case you’ve got a standard rate of T-Mobile) plus 9 Eurocents of daily user fee for the GPRS-service: That’s 36 Eurocents! Monthly seen, that would just be 18,10 Euros. So you could be saving up to 6,30 Euros per month.

You could save even more, if you booked another data rate in addition to your mobile phone system contract. Because it depends on the network provider, please contact yours for more information. As an alternative to the transmission of text-messages, you can even use the data volume for other programs or surfing the Internet with your mobile.

2. How does the download of the Zelfi free text-message program work?

You can source the program on the Zelfi-website (http://www.zelfi.com/en/free-sms/) for free (take a look at question 1 for data transmittal fee). There, you fill in your mobile number and get your software’s installation text-message after a moment. With this installation text-message, you are able to download the software directly on your mobile. Therefore, the mobile’s WAP-access has to be activated. After charging the program is applicable at once. Please check whether your GPRS-configuration is cut out correctly.

There’s also the possibility of downloading the software as a zip-file on your PC at first. After depacketising the zip-data, you just transfer the jar-data on your mobile, e.g. via Bluetooth, Infrared or by cable (read HERE how it works). Please registrate your mobile number after starting the software. You’ll get a TAN on your mobile after a short moment of verification. To get the program started, it is important to enter your mobile number and TAN right at the start of the software.

For the transfer of the Zelfi free text-message program from one mobile to another, it’s the same: You need to registrate with your mobile number and confirm it with the TAN before starting the software. And please make sure your mobile’s GPRS-configuration is gut out correctly!

3. How does the use of Zelfi free text-messaging work?

To use this service you have to open the relevant program. Click “application”, “entertainment” or “games” in your mobile’s menu. After choosing the program you just fill in the text you would like to send. That’s the same as before. If you like to send the text-message, you’ll have to choose the recipient’s number as usual. With newer mobile phones, the program is able to access your mobile’s address-book. If this is not possible or of you don’t like it, you can archive the number in a Zelfi own address-book and take the number out of it. Just click on “send it” after entering the recipient’s number and off it goes. Before the message will be sent, you get up to two sales messages on your mobile. The free service is financed by sales messages.

Yes, it is possible to send a Zelfi free text-message abroad as long as you are in Germany, Austria or Switzerland. Please make sure the suitable international area code is attached to the recipient’s number (e.g. to send a text-message to France choose 0033).

Whether your text-message will be sent abroad or to another telephone network: the data billing always stays the same!

You are only able to send text-messages with this Zelfi program. Incoming text-messages are still receivable on your mobile (as usual).

You have to do nothing in fact. The service of Zelfi free text-message is neither binding nor are you in bond to send text-messages from the Zelfi program. You can still send text-messages from your mobile without making use of the Zelfi program

If you like to uninstall our software, just use your mobile’s menu. You are always welcome to download the latest version from the Zelfi free text-message website. Please remind that your saved telephone-book entries will get lost during uninstallation.
